Carlo McCormick is an esteemed author, critic and curator living in New York City.


His numerous books, monographs and catalogues include: TRESPASS: A History of Uncommissioned Urban Art; Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art and Street Culture; The Downtown Book: The New York Art Scene 1974-1984, and Dondi White: Style Master General. His writing has appeared in Effects : Magazine for New Art Theory, Aperture, Art in America, Art News, Artforum, Camera Austria, High Times, Spin, Tokion, Vice and many other titles.


Most recently, McCormick advised the Barbican Centre on Boom For Real – the UK’s first major retrospective of the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat and the most popular show in the organisation’s history – as well as curated the first major exhibition of influential artist RAMMΣLLZΣΣ which opens in May at Red Bull Arts New York.


He also lectures and teaches extensively on popular culture and art at universities and colleges across the United States.
